Kidney Cancer Risk Factors
Anything that increases your chance of getting a disease is called a risk factor. Risk factors for kidney cancer include the following:
- Being exposed to certain hazardous substances at work, i.e. coal tar pitch, creosote, or chemical exposure
- Smoking
- Misusing certain pain medications
- Having certain genetic conditions
The risk of kidney cancer increases with any of the above mentioned factors. The above list illustrates many of the common examples of kidney cancer risk factors. If you or a loved one has one or more of the above kidney cancer risk factors, particularly coal tar pitch exposure, exposure to creosote, or exposure to other chemicals, our coal tar pitch lawyers can further explain the likelihood that you will be diagnosed with kidney cancer.
